Catholicism is still a main religion in Colombia. There is an estimate of 75% of the national population in nominal Catholicism. 25% of that 75% is practicing Catholics. According to the CIA Factbook 90% of the population classify themselves as catholics. The people also follow Islamic beliefs. Approximately 0.02% of the population adheres to islam. Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the constitution. Colombians commonly express their faith in God with phrases like Si Dios quiere ( God willing) and Que sea lo que Dios quiera (Whatever God wills.)
