Colombian food is like food of it’s own kind with so many creations. To cooks in the United States, Colombian cookbooks are like a national treasure. Meals in Colombia are mainly eaten between 2 and 4. Lunch is the main meal of the day where there are three courses. This meal starts with a soup, then the main course, and then dessert. Traditional Colombian soups are usually topped with whole foods like corn on the cob, and whole peppers. They are also lavished with seasoning like onions, parsley, and garlic. The main Courses can be anything from chicken, to pork sausages. They are also very well seasoned with many different spices. Dessert is served last at lunch and consists of food anywhere from caramel and ice cream, to cake and fruit shakes. A favorite dish in Colombia is Arequipe, which is a caramelly type of dessert that is usually served with cheese that is made all over in colombia.
