The Colombian Peso has drastically decreased in value since the the drop in their oil prices. One US dollar is equal to 2,506 Colombian Peso, which is the highest it has been since 2009. Oil has been a big part in the country’s industry and income, and without it being sold at a high enough price, the Colombian Peso drops in value since the country isn’t worth as much. Since the country is covered in trees, wood is another big part of Colombia’s income. Their wood has not dropped in value, but the drugloards is the country have been draining out the country money.
